In recent weeks, Kenya has witnessed a surge in demonstrations driven by the proposed Finance Bill, which threatens to increase the cost of living for our citizens. These demonstrations have been notably led by our youth, particularly those from the Gen Z generation, who are facing the brunt of economic hardship and a lack of opportunities. The frustrations of young people without access to decent work have fueled these protests, highlighting the urgent need for actionable solutions.
At Hatima Africa, we understand the challenges our youth are facing, especially those who have completed high school but cannot afford higher education—a situation expected to worsen if the Finance Bill 2024 is passed.
